I originally met Abby on Christmas day at the dog beach on Coronado Island. As if the giant 1 ft wide dog bone Santy-Claws brought Chopper wasn’t enough, we decided to treat him to his 2nd most favoritest thing besides a steak dinner and a good belly rub: The BEACH! ZOMG! Anywho, we bumped into Abby with her adorable bulldogs Daphne & Hendricks that she rescued from a local animal shelter. Seriously, I dont think bulldogs get any cuter. Hendricks has this perpetual look on his face like he just heard the funniest joke in the world, and Daphne has this sharp, thousand-yard stare reminiscent of a marine sharp-shooter—quite an interesting combo.

One thing led to another (Becki insisted on snapping some photos of Abby’s pooches), and Abby called me up to inquire about getting some professional photos taken of herself since, like pretty much everyone else, the only professional photos she had of herself were taken for the high school yearbook. She was nervous at first, but quickly loosened up and relaxed after I made googly-eye faces at her till she broke down laughing… j/k j/k. But I bet it was pretty hilarious seeing me mirror a bunch of girly poses to get her moving in the right direction…

We bounced around a few ideas for her portrait session and decided upon shooting around the sand dunes at the Coronado dog beach, and then heading into the Gaslamp Quarter to get some urban photos. She was blown away by the photos–literally! I think her neighbor had to help her up off the ground after she open the box containing her Photo DVD Folio…. lol (or at least that’s what I picture happening when she saw her photos for the first time 😉 Come to think of it, I was actually pretty jealous that she has such awesome photos. *Note to self: take more self-portraits…

*second note to self: find more ways to bribe awesome girlfriend to come along to photo shoots and provide awesome make-up and styling.

Abby, it was a blast photographing you, and I’m stoked that you love the photos 🙂
